Do You Know How To Explain Toto Asia To Your Mom

The Band Toto Asia

Toto was expanding its production facilities abroad and operating in France, Germany, Indonesia, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and the People's Republic of China. North America was seen as an opportunity to grow for Washlet toilets and bidet seats, in contrast to its "base" markets in Japan and China.

Dhaniram Toto was recording Toto words to ensure the future generations would be able to read the words. However, many of the words were being replaced with foreign words, such as dui from Bengali for verandah.

Origins

Established in 1917, Toto's early years were a mirror of Japan's economic growth. In the beginning, Toto made products to meet the growing demand for modern, new urban housing. To achieve this, it used the first tunnel kiln in the nation to produce ceramics in a continuous flow. It also pioneered the use automation to control production, allowing for more efficiency and consistency.

The company began expanding internationally in the late 1980s in order to take advantage of new markets and sales opportunities. The company established the Cera Trading Company to import and sell other products from other manufacturers to expand its range of sanitary earthenwares and plumbing fittings. This strategy increased sales and increased the company's market share.

In the late 1990s, Toto had shifted its focus to research and development of water-related household appliances. It also upgraded its distribution system to better serve its customers and boost profits. The company adopted a just-in-time approach to managing its supply chain and used the same methodology for its sales process. This resulted in a greater level of customer satisfaction.

Toto continues to invent toilet technology. Its most recent toilet, for example is equipped with a strong tornado flush that is more eco green than traditional toilets. The company makes use of recycled water for its manufacturing process and has a green purchasing policy. In addition to toilets Toto manufactures bathtubs and faucets and hand dryers that are more efficient in energy use than typical models.

The first museum of the company was opened in 2015 and features exhibits on Toto's most iconic products and their development and its group companies (all having to do with ceramics) and the historical background of plumbing and products like bath units, and in a separate gallery, Toto products sold around the world. The museum houses a bathroom with a washbasin and other toilet innovations.

Before beginning the formation of Toto members of the group performed sessions for a variety of musicians. Boz Scaggs album Silk Degrees featured keyboardist David Paich, guitarists Mike Porcaro & Steve Lukather as well as drummers Jeff Porcaro & Steve Lukather. They also played on records by Steely Don, Seals and Crofts and Sonny and Cher.

Discography

With a name like Asia, you would think that the group would be prog queens and kings however, it's actually a pretty straight forward rock band. The group began as a quartet and recorded two albums: 1979's self titled debut, and 1980's Armed to the Teeth. But even though the band have a diverse musical background their biggest breakthrough was achieved in 1982 with Toto IV.

The album was a huge blockbuster, but it was not without its share of problems. Record companies placed the band on the spot with the ultimatum "give us an album that's a smash or we'll sack you" and the pressure was on to meet the deadline. Toto was able to do this through the aid of the hit song "Africa."

Toto's musical mastery is a result of their prior experience, as the band members had been session musicians for artists such as Boz Scaggs, Steely Dan, and Seals and Crofts prior to forming the group. Their distinctive sound has become the standard of  1980s music, and has inspired a lot of contemporary artists.

The album begins with a hefty dose of hard rock with tracks like Running Out of Time and Unknown Soldier showcasing the bands ability to write great AOR songs that slowly work their hooks into your mind. The album also has some more mellow, jazzy tracks such as The Little Things and Chinatown. The album concludes with Great Expectations. This song mixes folk and the distorted AOR, which should sound completely wrong but actually works very well.

After Toto IV the band's fortunes started to plummet. David Hungate left the band to pursue a solo career and the band was dominated by drummers. In 1984, Bobby Kimball left the band after drug charges. The band remained with Michael Porcaro, Steve Lukather and Michael Porcaro.

Toto released Isolation despite the turbulence. It was not as popular as IV. However, the band still managed to release another chart-topping album in 1992, Kingdom of Desire. This album marked the end of Toto's lineup and the debut of Simon Phillips, a new singer.

Line-up

The band's third album, Turn Back, marked a return to the classic sextet style of previous albums.  메이저사이트 순위  was a more powerful, consistent effort that had a harder edge than Hydra. Its edgier sound reflected the maturation of the group and included drummer Bobby Kimball's increased proficiency on the drums, as well as a more mature, confident vocal delivery from singer Joseph Williams. David Paich's work was more refined, sharper and less cloying than previously recorded efforts.

After touring to promote their album, the band recorded the band's Amsterdam live performance that was released on Eagle Records as a 2-CD set entitled Falling In Between. A new studio album was released shortly after, and the group went on a long-distance tour in support of the album. During this time, keyboardist Greg Phillinganes replaced Paich and bassist David Hungate quit the group to spend time with his family.

In 1998, Paich and Lukather started looking through old demo tapes and tapes to make a new album featuring songs that had never been recorded before. The album was released in 2001 as a duo album called Then and Now. It was the first album in the history of the band that did not include a single song with the word "A" in its title and it included one previously unreleased track, "Kari-Anne".

By 2003, Toto had begun to decline in popularity. The group's fourth album, Old Is New was not a commercial success and vocalist Williams was suffering from laryngitis that restricted his singing capabilities. In addition, Hungate returned to Nashville as a drummer, and Leland Sklar was replaced by Shem von Schroeck.

Downes, Wetton Palmer and Howe, the founding members of Asia The original Asia members met in England early in 2006 to discuss the possibility that the group could be revived. This lineup, minus Howe (who was busy with Yes at the time), eventually became known as Toto XIV and toured extensively.

In 2010, the band reunited for another reunion tour with a slightly different line-up, including guitarists Mike Porcaro and Steve Lukather, drummer John Pierce, bassist Shannon Forrest, and multi-instrumentalists Warren Ham and Dominique Taplin. The group also had a guest appearance by singer Michael McDonald, and a backing singer named Mabvuto Carpenter.
